Did you know that the area around Fountain Hills, Rio Verde, Tonto Verde and the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation teems with history and adventure.

Some 21 years ago, a group of culturally-minded Fountain Hills residents formed a Historical Society which has become known for its dinners, social gatherings, trips and interesting projects appealing to people of various cultural interests.

In 2003, the Historical Society opened its "crown jewel." a museum themed around the history of the Lower Verde River Valley and the civilizations it made possible. This "River of Time Museum" was funded jointly by the town and private contributions. It was built as a part of the Community Center Complex.

The museum is a dramatically designed facility of audio visuals, murals, exhibits, artifacts and relics depicting the evolution of the area from prehistoric times to the present. Compliant with the American Disabilities Act for the hearing impaired.

You are cordially invited to become a member of the Fountain Hills Historical Society - share in its conviviality and intellectual enthusiasm, and participate in its activities and programs.

$25.00 for individuals; $35.00 for a family per year
